Triplett had experience in some aspects of direct marketing after operating an apple house in Linden in partnership with his twin brother. The two did a brisk business in cider and in peaches and apples by the carton, bag and bushel until Interstate 66 took traffic off Route 55 and away from the sign advertising Triplett’s apple house just a mile or so off the highway.
