“Open Wide” will be a familiar phrase to many Rappahannock and neighboring county residents on Friday, July 31st when a (Tee Mouth Cancer Detection Day will be observed.
Anyone 21 years or over may visit the clinic at the Health Department in Rappahannock between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. and receive a free examination for mouth (oral) cancer.
Cancers of the mouth afflict 26,000 Americans annually and kill about 9,000. In Virginia, approximately 18S deaths from this cancer are expected in 1981.
