Alther
Mrs. Emma Belle Alther, 90, of Washington, died Tuesday, July 7, 1981, at the Shawnee Springs Nursing Home in Winchester. Daughter of the late Jacob and Mollie Bruce Alther, she was a native of Rappahannock County.
Graveside services were conducted Friday at the Sperryville Cemetery by the Rev. John K. Burke Jr.
She is survived by a daughter, Martha Alther of Washington; a grandson, Patrick Henry Alther of Charlottesville; two brothers, Jonas Alther and George Alther, both of Sperryville and two sisters, Virgie Pullen of Sperryville and Ollie Alther of Washington, D. C.
