Currently, the fire and rescue association “has next to nothing in the way of funding” for setting up a local dispatch center, according to Poling. The Bureau of Emergency Medical Services has funds available, however, and personnel from that organization have indicated that “this project looks good,” Poling reported. "We need something definite from the board on location,” he said, adding that a decision on the grant application is expected in January.
