The Warren County Supervisors appear to be following the lead of Rappahannock's board in taking a close look at the recent rate increase requested by Central Telephone Company.
In a letter dated August 31, Warren County administrator J. Ronald George petitioned the State Corporation Commission to hold its public hearings on the rate increase locally rather than in Richmond.
“Members of the Board of Supervisors often hear complaints from constituents concerning the quality of telephone service provided by Centel. However, it is not known whether these complaints or concerns are formally expressed to the SCC,” Goorge wrote.
