The marriage of Miss Kim Gilkey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert S. Gilkey III of Chester Gap, to Richie Van Burke of Woodville. took place Saturday, August 8, 1981. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Mabel Burke of Woodville and the late Garfield Burke.
The First Assembly of God Church in Front Royal was the setting for the one o’clock ceremony performed by the Rev. William Alford of Chester Gap.
Traditional wedding music was presented by Mrs. Carolyn Powell, pianist, while soloist was Miss Sheree Powell who sang ‘‘The Wedding Song - There is Love” and “We’ve Only Just Begun.”
The bride, escorted by her father, wore a formal gown of white organza trimmed with lace. The lace bodice was enhanced with seed pearls, and featured, a scooped neckline and lace bishop sleeves with fitted cuffs. Lace edged the sweeping chapel train. Her fingertip veil of nylon accented with lace fell from a cap of lace and seed pearls. She carried a cascade of white silk roses and iris. Miss Kelly Gilkey was maid of honor for her sister.
