the fiscal box in which our supervisors now find themselves and which forced the radical increase in the tax rate and slash in public services we all now face.

And we are not discussing the gross inequity of transferring this tax burden from the “eligible” taxpayers (ten percent) to the “ineligible” taxpayers (90 percent) in the county. I must repeat that there was no excuse or justification for ANY owner of real estate in this county paying less in property taxes in 1982 than they did in 1981 between which years the supervisors approved a 1,5.4 percent increase in total county expenditures!!
