Farmers should take advantage of the first financial incentive conservation program hv the State.
The State of Virginia through the Governor’s office approved $500,000 to be paid out to farmers in the PIK or the set-aside program with ASCS. This incentive program is to encourage farmers to seed borders of the program’s acreage along streams. The seeding may be as narrow as 12 feet in places or as wide as you want, but the overall seeding must average 20 feet wide.
