Five of Rappahannock County High School's top athletes placed in the state’s “A” track and field finals held last Saturday at Spotswood High School in Penn Laird.
The boys’ squad finished with 14 points, 13th out of 40 some schools and ahead of Bull Run District rivals Page, Stonewall Jackson, Strasburg, Brentsville and Clarke.
It was a dismal day to be outdoors with a steady downpour hampering contestants for most of the afternoon. But 11 state records fell along with the rain.
