lies of some of the human dead buried at St. Paul’s. The body of the cat was moved outside the cemetery fence. Later, though, when the Millan family donated some adjacent land to enlarge the cemetery, the boundaries were changed and the cat’s grave was once again inside the gates.
The cemetery today is a shady, pretty place, with many old-fashioned markers weathered w ith age and permanent flowers of peony and iris marking some of the old graves. A monument marks the site of the old church that blew away.
