Mrs. Stephen Filyo, Sr., and Lynn Baker of Wheaton, Md., were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Wood at DunLookin. On Saturday Mrs. Filyo entertained her father and other members of the family at the Davis Street Ordinary in Culpeper in honor of Father’s Day. Other guests spending Father’s Day with the Woods and their houseguests were Mrs. Stephen Filyo, Jr., and Stephen Christopher and Mrs. Margaret Fetsko and Michele, all of Rockville, Md.
On the lawn of Germanna Community College last Sunday, with the temperature in the upper 90’s, 131 enthusiastic graduates gathered for commencement exercises. Our congratulations to two from our area — Miss Lou E. Thornhill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thornhill, who received a degree in science, and Steve W. Lamb, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Lamb, who received a degree in automotive technology.
Camp Hazel River, with classes from June 25 through August 6, each evening from 5:30 till 7:30 is offering swimming classes sponsored by the Culpeper Chapter of the American Red Cross. Registration for these classes will be held at the Jefferson Saving and Loan Association in Culpeper from 5 till 7 p.m. and the cost is $3.
