best known break dancer, seventh-grader Herbert Shanks, who literally dazzles.
Van Veselka, a county writer and performer, will move you with a poignant and powerful poem which he has written about running away and growing up. Charlie Tompkins will make you nostalgic with blue grass strummin’ and Bingin’. Hie RAAC Country Dancers will do an early American dance wearing period costumes from George Washington’s time.
After the Talent Showcase, everyone is invited to the street dance right outside the theater. If there are any left after intermission, homemade ham biscuits, cookies, and cold drinks will be for side.
The public is invited to come “as you are” or to dress as “someone you would like to be.”
The dance will begin around 9:30 p.m. and music will be provided by Bill Abernathy and Friends.
Tickets are available at Rush River or the RAAC office in the back of the GajT Street Theatre building. Call RAAC if you need farther information or want to donate cookies or ham biscuits. The dance alone costs $3; the dance and Talent Showcase is $6 for RAAC members, $6.50 for others. The Talent Showcase alone is $2 tor children, $3.50 for RAAC members, $4.50 for others.
