Contestants on the 100mile course faced seven significant climbs. They moved constantly from the lower elevation of the Shenandoah Valley to the mountain tope of the Blue Ridge and the Massanutten, traveling from Front Royal south to the Vicinity of Luray, and back.
The Old Dominion club, a multi-event organization, will be sponsoring a competitive trail ride in September and a 50/50 endurance ride in October. The group also develops trails and offers seminars and counseling for anyone interested in distance riding.
