Three career scholarships, including two new $1,000 awards and a $750 scholarship, are available in present and former 4-H members enrolled next fall in an accredited college, university or technical or trade school. Who’s Who Among American High School Students in Lake Forest, 111., is providing the two $1,000 scholarships. The $760 scholarship is provided to memory of Gertrude L. Warren, a pioneer 4-H leader often described as the “Mother of 4-H.”
The recipients of these scholarships can major in any recognized field of study and must have been influenced by 4-H in selecting a future career. Last year’s recipient of the Gertrude L. Warren scholarship was from Iowa.
All applicants must have completed at least one year of 4-H work. Winners are selected by the Cooperative Extension Service, which conducts the 4-H program.
