To the editor

This letter was sent to the Board of Supervisors on June 14, care of Mr. James R. Latham, Chairman. It’s in regard to the June 21, 1984, public hearing concerning Rappahannock Group Home Partnership. Gentlemen:

As registered voter and property owner in Rappahannock County, I wish to communicate my strong opposition to the application by Rappahannock Group Home to the Board of Supervisors to approve the issuance of $5,000,000 of Industrial Revenue Bonds to permit the acquisition and construction of an “elderly care facility” or an “elderly residential facility” at the old ski area location on Harris Hollow Road.

Our farm is next to the property covered by the application. It comprises approximately 1,100 acres, including land previously part of the old ski area and adjacent thereto. We also have considerable frontage on the Rush River downstream from the proposed Rappahannock Group Home facility.

I am thoroughly familiar
