On Wednesday, July 4th, The Child Care and Learning Center, Sursum Corda, will host its fourth and biggest auction ever. Featuring both a silent auction and a live auction, the sale will offer more than 150 items and services to bid on.
The silent auction will begin at 2 p.m. and close at 3 p.m. “by the clock.” More than 100 items will be displayed attractively in different sections: Antiques, Art, Boutique, Children’s Corner, Entertainment, Food, Health and Sports, and House and Garden. Emmett White of Washington will be the auctioneer.
There will be Mini-Live Closings between 3 and 3:30 p.m., at which time several items from the silent auction will close “live.” Items available, many from local artists and craftspeople, will include a family portrait, a silkscreen print, a sterling silver tiger’s eye ring, a cotton print dress for a child, Hayloft Dinner Theatre tickets, complimentary tickets for four to Wildworld Family Theme Park, yoga lessons, dental examinations, tennis lessons, and legal consultation.
The live auction, beginning at 3:30, includes on the auction block a mahogany reproduction Hepplewhite sofa, Hershey Park complimentary passes and resort accommodations, two roundtrip Air Florida tickets between Washington, D. C., and Miami, Fla., two subscriptions to Wayside Theatre’s 1984 Summer Season, two roundtrip tickets from Washington, D.
