Homecoming At Hope Hill Homecoming services will be held at Hope Hill Baptist Church near Castleton on Sunday, July 8, beginning at 9:45 a.m. The afternoon service will start at 2 p.m. Guest speakers will be Miss Emily Mundell, founder of Hope Hill Chapel and her associate Miss June Mundell. Other speakers will be former pastors of Hope Hill which are the Rev. Ray VanDer Verr, Rev. Otto Stable, Rev. Richard Trout, Rev. Ed Dorrin and their wives. The Prophets quartet will provide special music for the day. A covered dish dinner will be served at the church. Pastor Milton Switzer invites the public and all present and former members and friends of Hope Hill to come and fellowship throughout the day.
Workshops Set ' , A workshop on “Developing A Peace Curriculum For Children,” is " scheduled for July 7 from 10a.m. to 2p.m. - *i ' Another workshop on “Non-violence Training,” is set for July 8 from 2 to 6 p.m. Both workshops are sponsored by the Blue Ridge Peace Project. Homemakers Picnic The Flint Hill Extension Homemakers annual picnic will be held at the home of Alice Pullen Tuesday July 10 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Chester Gap Carnival The Chester Gap Firemen’s Carnival will be held July 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st. Everyone is invited to attend. ‘Under Fire’ The story of a photojoumalist in Nicaragua is the subject of this film starring Nick Nolte. It will be shown at the Gay St. Theater Saturday and Sunday, July 7 and 8 at 7:30 and is rated PG.
Benefit Talent Show The Mary Magdalene Chapter 206, Order of Eastern Star PH A, will be having a talent program at the William Chapter Methodist Church in Chester St. Front Royal, on July 7th at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and make this program a success. The program is to benefit the Mary Magdalene Chapter 208.
