The Mary Anna Lawler Award for contribution to the life of the school went to Elizabeth duFrane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duke duFrane of Culpeper. The Headmaster’s Award was given to John Goodwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goodwin of Orange.
Merrick Athletic Awards were given to Danielle Phillips, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Phillips of Fredericksburg, and Darren Wade, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Booth of Rapidan. The Browning Creativity Award was presented to Teddy Davies, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davies of Woodberry Forest.
The Cortada History Prize and the Leland Lord Mathematics award both went to David Smith. Christopher Durcan, son of Dr. and Mrs. Frank Durcan of Fredericksburg, and a seventh grader won the Hagan American History Award.
Departmental Awards in History and French were presented to David Smith. Mary Grayson Gillespie won the English award and Aiden Burke, son of Dr. and Mrs. Declan Burke of Culpeper, was presented the science award.
The Golden Horseshoe Chapter DAR Citizenship Award was presented to Kathleen Aitken, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Aitken of Stevensburg.
Retiring Board Chairman Peter Rice recognized Headmaster Clarke Worthington III for his three years of leadership at the school. Mr. Worthington will retire from Grymes in July.
