Striped Bass Decline
Effective July 1,1984, the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament will no longer recognize striped bass as a species eligible for citations.
The action was taken following a June 26 meeting of the Tournament Committee with representatives of the Virginia Department of Conservation and Economic Development.
The Committee’s action is a response to the serious decline of this excellent sport fish.
Citations will still be awarded to those who have entered striped bass prior to July 1,1984.
