Already, sacrifices in the scope of the building project have been made to insure its completion.
The building committee recently slashed $30,000 from the price of the facility to be constructed by dropping plans for a more costly, passive-solar,earth-berm structure.
The board of directors is willing to do more, if necessary. At their meeting of June 10, the board gave the go-ahead to the building project—even if it means digging deeper into members’ own pockets or going outside to finance the rest of the project.
“We’ve discovered it’s a very expensive process,” Dietel says, shrugging her shoulders. “But we’re going ahead.”
