That process could take months.
The county may need a temporary facility. “I’m ready to move on it as soon as board members are ready,” Latham said.
“(If it) has to be done right away, we do have a projected surplus. We’d have to take (the money) from that,” Latham added.
“I’m ready to go on it,” Supervisor Nelson Lane said. “I would say we have a plan. We just have to get the wheels turning and do the right thing.”
“It’s fair to say the supervisors are aware of suits brought in a4joining counties,” Commonwealth’s Attorney Peter Luke offered. “It’s a matter of concern to them—the reason why they have begun taking some steps. ”
Residents Supportive
Rappahannock residents who attended the meeting to hear Walt Lane said they supported attempts by the supervisors to rectify the situation.
