The following social news items occurred during the past week and weekend.
Mrs. F. D. Coffey, Jr. and her sister, Mrs. Dorothy Lewis of Huntly and Mrs. Robert Nethers of Flint Hill spent the weekend of the 21st with Mrs. Verta Jenkins and her daughter, Mrs. Doris Taylor at Colonial Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Sanford of Orange and house guest Lyle Sanford of Texas, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Wood, Jr., Henry B. and Mrs. Julia Wood of Woodville had lunch Sunday with Mrs. Mary Quaintance at The Corner Poet in Flint Hill.
Lee Thompsen of Falls Church and Jeff Thompsen of Vienna spent Saturday with their grandmother, Mrs. R. E. Thompsen.
Mrs. Frances Tabler was hoetess to the Tabler reunion Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Guests were from Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and North Carolina. They had dinner Saturday evening at Brookside near Luray and a picnic Sunday at the Rappahannock Recreational Center in Washington. Mrs. Lucille Moody of Silver Spring, Md. was a houseguest from Friday to Tuesday and they had luncheon Monday with friends in Winchester.
Mr. and Mrs. George W. Hawkins returned home Saturday after spending two weeks in Clewiston, Florida.
