The trailing phrase after the hyphen indicates that in some cases services were rendered, and still people didn’t pay. You didn’t stress that point, did you? As far as the services that were not received, it had to be the parents that failed, not the Center.
Based on your logic, with regards to signing contracts, I don’t have to make my car payment this month, as long as I park the car before the payment is due. I can also pay only onehalf my rental or mortgage as I will be on vacation the last half of the month and won’t be using the house.
If people can stop payment to a small, non-profit organization such as Sursum Corda whenever they feel like it, the profitable financial institutions certainly shouldn’t mind if I stop payment to them, if I am not using the product anymore.
Your seventh paragraph seems slanderous, implying that Sursum Corda does not offer a “high standard of care and education.”
You complain that the “average” of the surrounding area is only $160. This average must be for the two year old potty-trained only because you didn’t compare it with the infant-toddler price of $310. Why did you not compare the price of the infant toddler program? Because it Was beneficial to the tone of your lettfer not to compare
reader. You speak of “more flexible, convenient arrangements for parents;” “the average cost of these other programs;” “growing undercurrents of dissatisfaction.”
I say give some specifics.
You say it is “a concept that was potentially a great aid to many people. ” 1 say it is “a concept that ia a great aid to many people.” And I challenge any or all five signatures to an open public debate on this subject.
Your letter says you “wish to honor the vision, commitment, and dedicated efforts of Camille Harris, etc.” Then why don’t you get behind her and help with the large new facility, instead of trying to kill it?
With a larger facility, they could take more children in. They could offer things to all Rappahannock citizens, not just, working parents, which seems to be your only concern.
They currently offer dance and karate, and maybe other programs that I am not aware of. Think for a minute about how the prices could go down for the working mother, if there were other programs and the facilities to house more children and other community activities.
I can’t say rates would drop, but taken seriously by it?
