Sperryville Business Council To Meet
The Sperryville Business Council will meet on Wednesday, February 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sperryville Emporium. The council has been inactive for the past two years, so organizers urge all business people and interested individuals to attend.
SPTA To Meet On February 14
The Rappahannock County Elementary School Student Parent Teacher Association will meet on Thursday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the school library. The SPTA encourages parents to attend. Babysitters will be available.
Artist Forum
On Friday, February 22, an Artists’ Forum and potluck supper will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Blackwater Homestead, home of Sid and Margaret Gottlieb. The meeting will explore ways in which RAAC can be more supportive to local artists. Any interested musicians (pop and classical), dancers, dramatists, writers, visual artists and crafts persons are invited to attend and share their ideas. Swinging Country Dance
There will be a Swinging Country Dance to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 15 at 8 p.m. in the Sperryville Fire Hall.
Tom Bledsoe and Rich Kirby who are among the country’s leading ' performers of southern mountain music, will be wailing on fiddles, banjos, mandolins and harps in the old time tradition of country dancing. Everyone’s invited to join in the rounds, squares, lines and country swing. Families are welcome.
Admission is $4.00 for RAAC members, $4.50 for others, and $2.00 for students and seniors. This event is sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC). For information call 675-3193.
