David Konick alerted the Board to an alleged violation of the zoning ordinance. In violation, said Konick, was Robert Bowers of Amissville, who over a year ago was granted a special use permit to put a trailor on his property while he was building a house. The permit was granted on the condition that the trailor be removed once the house was built. After receiving extensions to the special use permit, Bowers has yet to remove the trailor from his property. What’s more, said Konick, Bowers now has the original trailor, along with another one, up for sale. The fact that Bowers has no permit to make these sales constitutes another violation of the zoning ordinance, said Konick.
During the meeting an agreement was announced between Rappahannock County and the town of Washington. Chairman Gilkey’s signature confirmed that Rappahannock had accepted Washington’s boundaries.
The supervisors also accepted James Swindler as the BZA’s representative on the Planning Commission.

Last week’s dedication of Wakefield School’s new gymnasium was postponed because of snow. The Opening Ceremonies have been rescheduled for Saturday, February 9. The junior varsity basketball game against Seton Hall will begin at 1:30 followed by the dedication at 2:30. The varsity game, a tour of the new facilities, and an Open House will follow the opening ceremony. The Dublic is invited te attend
