Book Discussion At Library “Growing Up in the South," a five part book discussion series opens at the Library Monday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. with Dr. Suzanne Jones of the University of Richmond as Keynote speaker. The program is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities and is free to the public. Registration will begin of February 11 when brochures will be mailed. Eudora Welty’s memoir One Writer’s Beginnings is recommended reading before the first lecture. This and the other four books may be borrowed from the Library now, and paperbacks of the others will be for sale at the Library by mid-February.
Agricultural Regional Conference Scheduled A regional conference on Agricultural Policy, the 1986 farm bill, is scheduled for Tuesday, March 5 at the Holiday Inn in Culpeper. This conference is for an audience of farmers, agribusiness managers and leaders of farm organizations and agricultural agencies. However, any interested person may attend. Historical Society To Meet In March The Rappahannock Historical Society has postponed its February meeting due to cold >veather conditions. Ice Capades Trip A trip by chartered bus to the Ice Capades on Saturday, February 23 is being sponsored by Fauquier County Parks and Recreation. From front row seats see Scott Hamilton, Elaine Zayak, Kitty and Peter Carruthers perform along with the rest of the magnificent 1985 Ice Capades performers. The bus will leave Fauquier High School at 2 p.m. and will return to Fauquier High at approximately 9 p.m. Space is limited so register soon at the Parks and Recreation Office, 14 Main Street, Warrenton.
