Tom Bledsoe is returning to Rappahannock where he performed three years ago as an actor and musician in “South of the Mountain.” This historical drama was the story of three generations of the mountain family of one of the participating actors. The play was a powerful and beautifully-crafted example of people creating art out of their experience. It was an inspiration to the “Voices of Rappahannock” drama which was based up 150 years of Rappahannock history, produced by RAAC in 1983. Eleven children performed in the play, along with two local residents in their eighties.
The Country Valentine’s Dance on February 15 is open to the public. Children are welcome. The Rappahannock Association for the A#s and the Community (RAAC), which is a non-profit volunteer organization open to anyone interested in supporting the arts, is bringing these guest artists to the area. Members of RAAC receive discounts on all RAAC-sponsored events.
Admission to the Dance is $4.50 ($4.00 for RAAC members) and $2.00 for students and seniors. Call 675-3193 for information.
