It’s a good time of year to be creative with chicken! Why? Because the prices are low, the nutritional value is high and just about everyone likes chicken, says Eleanor Whinnery, marketing specialist with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
If you’re looking for new ways to fix the same chicken, Delmarva Poultry Industry has an offer you can’t refuse. The prize winning recipes from the 1984 winning recipes were prepared by Betty Judy and Ann Kahan, who participated in the national contest. Their creative recipes - “Chicken ’n Cabbage Casserole” and “Date With A Chick*’ Chicken Salad — follow and are sure to be enjoyed. The Chicken ’n Cabbage Casserole placed second in the national contest.
