Vfguerie: I believe government is best when its closest to the people, and if local communities feel that they should restrict growth, that they should manage their growth in certain ways - I think that’s their prerogative and their right.
We have the great country that we have because of the free enterprise system that allows for growth. We have the greatest country in the world, the most prosperous country in the world, because of our business climate. We all know government doesn’t do anything in the way of - government never produced a drop of oil, a kilowatt of energy; it doesn’t grow things, it doesn’t feed people. Individuals, businesses, people are the fibre, backbone and strength of our country. When they are free to produce, then we’ll have the most prosperous communities and state that we can possibly have.
So we need to do the types of things that will encourage business to grow, to relocate to our community. We need to have a tax structure and laws that will encourage growth in business. But if the individual communities prefer to restrict it, then that’s their prerogative, that’s the system that we have here.
