“Travels With Andy,” the up-coming slide presentation that will be offered at the Rappahannock Library on February 12 at 7:30 p.m. will give the audience a taste for impromptu exploration of the world from Australia to the Arctic circle.

The show’s title may imply to some that Andy is a secondary character in this adventure, but she was the solo traveler. Andrea Klopp, a young woman of enormous energy, is characterized by her willingness to say “Yes” to life. Andy, a Tiffin, Ohio native, was attracted to this area at first by her interest in horses and after some years of work here in the county she decided to use her carefully saved funds for travel.

She was open to every opportunity consistent with this goal, and made many spur-of-the-moment decisions. “I can’t say I had a negative encounter with any people or felt threatened, except once—by a bear!” Fate seemed to dictate her travels that began when someone, overhearing her “dream,” suggested that she contact a friend who drives mobile home caravans to
