“The parking area has been modified,” says Racing Secretary Judy Gilman. “Last year the water drained off the mountain and seemed to come right down in the parking area. This year we’ve widened the road into the course and added a ditch on either side so parking should be much better. ”
For riders some of the fences have been modified and widened to prevent congestion, particularly at the beginning of a race.
The only thing that can’t be controlled is the weather, and officials of the hunt are hoping that cooperates.
“I hope it’s nice,” says Huntsman and Clerk of the Course, James Atkins. “We’ve worked damned hard to get that thing ready. I’d hate to have to go over there and tear that thing up again like it has been the past couple of years because of the weather.”
