FHS students to attend

gifted school

For the first time in Fauquier High School’s history, all four students nominated to the Governor’s School for the Gifted have been accepted to the prestigious summer program.

Theresa Hartsell, Kerst ter Weele, Joe Pabis and Steven Powell will study about space, marine biology and general curriculum at the six-week program.

Kerst briefly gave his reasons why Fauquier scored four-for-four on acceptances.

“Our class as a whole is smarter than any other,” he said in a matter-offact manner.

Theresa and Steven will study in Hampton and Kerst and Joe will go to Staunton.

Students are nominated by teachers for their creativity, originality, maturity, integrity and other qualities.
