The planners, who act in an advisory capacity, will forward the recommendation to the Board of Supervisors. The board, which has the liberty to endorse or reject the planners’s recommendation, probably will hold a public hearing on the proposed monitoring and enforcement program at its May 21 meeting.
March permits set

Fauquier building officials report a record 81 new home construction permits for the month of March.
The previous high for March, established last year was, 73. For the second consecutive month in 1985, the county has issued a record-breaking number of permits.
Warrenton Realtor Milton Harding is encouraged by the March figures and expects a similar trend to continue through autumn.
“All the indications are that the trends are going to continue for the next 90 or 120 days,” said Mr. Harding, manager of the Long and Foster Warrenton office.
He added: “I think Fauquier County is going to experience more growth in the next year than it’s experienced in the past during any other; it’s ready for growth.”

charge dropped
A murder charge against a Warrenton man who killed his brother Nov. 27 was dropped Friday in Fauquier Circuit Court because he acted in selfdefense.
