In other words, why was the increase based on a budgeted figure proposed in the 83/84 school year, which carries a lower dollar figure?
Second, why did Estabrook’s 11 percent increase include the costs of supplemental pay, contradicting what was questioned earlier in the week? Third, why did chairman Massie take it upon herself to interpret the proposal without contacting all board members to clarify what they had all agreed on in the Tuesday board meeting?
Finally, when a one percent difference between Estabrook’s figures on teacher salaries and those pointed out to him by RCEA budget committee members, why did board members when made aware of this, choose to leave this unchanged? This only allows me to think that there may have been a hastily calculated teachers’ salary and a board that accepts that liability.

Visitors with no self-respect and not respect for the rights and sensibilities of others. Visitors who dump refuse too unsightly for their own premises on public property.
What to do? It is hard to say. It should be a community effort and start, I believe, in the schools. How about the Garden Club? And the three churches? The preachers must know it is impossible to lift up one’s eyes unto the hills while dodging beer cans in the road.
There should be a solution to this problem. The natives haven't found it. Perhaps newcomers can.
