Carnival
Underway
The Annual Sperryville Fire Department Carnival started on Wednesday July 10 and will run until July 13.
The parade will begin tonight at 7 p.m. in the town of Sperryville and will include fire and rescue squads, floats and bands.
The contestant who has sold the most tickets for the carnival will be crowned queen on Friday at 10 p.m. and will receive a prize of $100.
The grand prizes will be given away on Saturday night. The first prize will be $1,000 and five prizes of $100 will be awarded.
Chester Gap
The Annual Chester Gap Carnival will be held from July 17 to 20, and all rides will start at 7 p.m.
Wednesday night will be family night, and rides can be ridden all night long for only $3. On Thursday night, the Royal Tones will be performing from 8-9 p.m. and 10-11 p.m. The Mistic Sound will perform on Friday night from 8-9 p.m. and 10-11 p.m. The honorary fire chief will be crowned on Saturday night at 10 p.m. At 12 a.m., the grand prizes will be given away. The first prize is a 3-wheeler, second is $50, and third is $25.
