The third motion approved by the authority was a request that Gerhart prepare and recommend to the authority an interim policy and schedule of hook-up fees to apply only during the active construction period. “I know you (Gerhart) have some reservations about that, but I think that if we have people who are coming to us now saying they want service to a lot because they want to build on it that we have to have some kind of rational response to
them,” Dennis said.
Bill Fletcher, attorney for Peter F. Weslow, asked the authority if any final decision had been made on Weslow’s service request. The request was submitted at the authority’s last meeting.
“We do not (have a final decision),” Dennis said. “I will say that we have discussed your request with the State Water Control Board, and we have to file it formally there.” He said that the property should be put on the system in his opinion, but that the authority would have to work with the State Water Control Board.
“This authority is unable to make the final decision,” Dennis said. “We can make an official request, and I hope you would trust us to present the case.” He also asked Fletcher to find out whether or not Weslow owns property between the Thornton River and Route 211 for access purposes.
