Mary Sue Terry’s decision on March 5 to enter the race for the Democratic nomination for attorney general was not a light one. In an interview in Rappahannock County on Monday, long after she had sealed up the Democratic nomination, Terry said she is putting a lot on the line, namely “eight years seniority in the General Assembly and four major committee assignments.”
Sitting in the Rappahannock News office with press aides waiting outside to wisk her to a news office in Madison County, Terry seemed comfortable with her gamble to become the first female attorney general in Virginia’s history.
