The Rappahannock Water and Sewer Authority approved a motion during its meeting on Wednesday, July 3 to accept written requests until August 9 from those land owners whose property is not presently part of the Sperryville Sewage System plan and who want their property included.
At the authority’s last meeting, three such requests were made. Two requests were submitted by owners whose properties were “overlooked” or left off of the final plan, and one request was for a new development.
The written requests for sewage service hook-ups should include an explanation of and justification for the request. Each request will then be ranked in a suggested order of priority by the engineer, Hank Gerhart of Buchart-Hom, Inc., using such criteria as whether or not the property has direct sewage discharge into the Thornton River and the location of the property in relation to the service area.
The authority’s decisions on the requests will be reviewed by the State Water Control Board. Authority members Carson Johnson and Donald Gore
