Waites benefit dinner
A dinner to raise money to cover expenses incurred by the hospitalization of leukemia victim Jessie Waites is scheduled for Friday at the Castleton Fire Hall.
Waites, a former Rappahannock native, is a patient at Georgetown University Hospital’s Vince Lomardy Cancer Research Center.
The dinner, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., will help raise money to help cover expenses not covered by insurance.
Advance tickets for the dinner are $6 for adults, $3 for cildren. Tickets at the door are $7 and $4 and are available at various places.
Committee to meet
The Special Education Advisory Committee for the Rappahannock County Public Schools will meet on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.
The meeting will be held at the school board office.
The purpose of the meeting is to give an overview of the special education programs and related services provided by the public schools.
The committee is in the process of recruiting new members. Interested persons can call Pamela M. Rowe at 987-8773 or Debra Combs at 937-4222.
Committee meetings are open to the public.
