Home is their school
It’s reminiscent of the one-room schoolhoose. The three children sit in their den-classroom and learn about phonics, addition, division and Gideon’s trumpets.
Carolyn and Emily Dizer, the 4Vt and 7Vi-year-old daughters of Harleen and Tom Dizer of Warrenton, go about their daily home studies and don’t seem to be bothered by the distractions made by their 2-year-old brother, John.
Contrary to the mixed reactions she gets when she tells people she teaches her kids, Mrs. Dizer said she has no complaints with the home study program.
And she’s not alone in her mission to personally build her children’s characters and eliminate the negative influences of peer pressure.
