Deepest and heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Lamb family on the death of their mother, Mrs. Dolly Fincham Lamb, last week.
Word has been received here of the death of Jimmie Jenkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin (Pete) Jenkins, of Winchester. Pete Jenkins is the nephew of the late Ray Frazier, Sr. and has relatives in the area.
Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hitt, of “Cypress Knoll,” were Sunday luncheon guests of Mrs. Hitt’s grandmother, Mrs. Frances Eubank, in Washington.
Charles Blake and his son, Bill, of Napierville, 111., were recent weekend guests at “Quaint Acres” with Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Goddard and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier, Jr., Michele, Michael and Christopher, were Sunday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Meade, of Culpeper. Wednesday the Fraziers, along with Holtzman Frazier, of Fredericksburg, Mrs. Alvin Atkins, of Sperryville, Mr. and Mrs. Shelvy Frazier, of Castleton, and Harold Frazier, of Culpeper, were all together for the funeral of their aunt, Mrs. Bertha Frazier Jenkins at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home and the burial following in New Salem Church Cemetery.
Belated wishes are extended to Cary Thornhill who was honored on his 96th birthday Sunday with a party at his home given by children and grandchildren. Besides Mrs. Thornhill, 34 friends and family members were present.
J. Carter Goldsborough, Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Bigger and daughter, Joy, of Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Edward Kleitz, of Alameda, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Davanaugh Thrift, Mrs. Margaret Oates, Chriss and Betsy, of Norfolk, and Kavanaugh Thrift, Jr. were all here last Saturday for the wedding of Miss Lynne Goldsborough and Carleton Yowell at F.T. Baptist Church and the reception following at the “Conyers House.”

Mr. and Mrs. John Lee Durant were in Richmond last weekend and attended the wedding on Miss Joyce Ann Farrar and Stephen Cramer at St. Matthews Episcopal Church and the reception following at Richmond Country Club.
Arthur Nufeld, of Paterson, N.J., spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Lorraine Robson, at “Meadowood.”
