The Castleton Volunteer Fire Department’s third annual Turkey Ridge Run, the major fund-raisier for the department, is set for Saturday.
“This incredibly scenic 7.1-mile course is a runner’s dream,” said Philip Strange, race organizer and president of the CVFD. “The run starts and finishes downhill.”
Strange, however, admitted that runners will face “a challenging bump or two in between.”
Runners can vie for Thanksgiving turkeys to be presented to the male and female winners of the open category.
Special awards are to be given to the top three finishers in each of the six age categories for both sexes.
