It was estimated that as many as 80,000 visitors would come to the county for three main attractions: the Sperryville celebration, the Annual House Tour and Dried Flower Sale and the autumn colors in the Blue Ridge, all available on the same weekend this year.

A steady rain on Sunday, however, no doubt reduced that optimistic forecast, although no formal crowd count has been made public. The second-day rain did, though, force the cancellation of some of the outdoor bake sales and food sales.

Still, the weekend was deemed a great success by those involved.
