I.T. Tweed was in town Tuesday afternoon to tell about the forthcoming story in the Nov. 4 issue of the magazine on the ladies’ election, entitled “She-Town.”
Mr. Tweed said he was using the visit as an excuse to shake hands with the mayor, since he had never met one. Now he can brag that he has not only met a mayor, but he can say he shook hands with the prettiest one in the country.
Rappahannock’s famous cook book, “Rare Rappahannock Recipes,” is scheduled to be on sale after Saturday, Oct. 28.
The revised edition of the now-famous first copy, published in 1928 by the ladies of Woodville Baptist Church, has been revised and re-published by the ladies of the Mt. Lebanon and Woodville Baptist churches.
Thornton Gap Primitive (or Old School) Church held their annual union meeting at the Sperryville School auditorium. A large congregation attended Sunday, estimated to be about 300 persons, including those from the Washington, D.C. area.
Mary E. Grimsley, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Grimsley, fell while playing at school last Tuesday and broke her arm.
