The Washington Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary appreciated the help people in the community gave through money, food, cider, etc., for the annual bake sale over the weekend. Saturday was a very good day, but Sunday there was much needed rain and very few sales. Donations are still being accepted by Frances Foster, treasurer of the Auxiliary. All proceeds will go toward the new kitchen and the fire department.

The following people are in area hospitals: Clarence Baldwin, in Richmond; Mrs. Elbert Foster, Warren Memorial; and Mrs. Albert Payne, Culpeper Memorial. May God grant them all a speedy recovery.

Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Dorothy White on the recent death of her father.

Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. R.O. Bridges were Mr. and Mrs. Vince Petruskie, of Manassas.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Simmons visited with Mr. Simmons’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Simmons, of Woodbridge, on Sunday. Mr. Simmons continues very ill at his home.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Jenkins injoyed dinner with Mrs. Jenkins’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Campbell, of Amissville, on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Pennington spent the weekend at their summer place in Lewisetta. Mr.
