The Amissville Fire Department will hold its fall auction on Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the fire hall. Donations will be greatly appreciated. For more information or to arrange pickup service call Paul Poling 9375206. Gome out and support the fire department.
The AmissviUe Ladies Auxiliary will hold their annual Halloween Party on Oct. 31, from 7:30-9:30 at the fire hall. Admission is $1 pef person. Bigger and better than last year. Games and prizes, trick or treat bags and refreshments.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank McWhirt of Chestnut Hills had as their guest on Saturday her cousin, Mrs. Haygood Hill of Murfreesboro, N.C., her son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hill of Poquoson, Va. and mother Mrs. William Rhodes of Raleigh, N.C. On Sunday the McWhirts spent the afternoon and were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ellitt of Charlottesville. On Wednesday Mr. McWhirt was visiting friends in Arlington and Falls Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lawrence entertained the following for lunch on Sunday, Bev and Brenda Lawrence, Mrs. Nannie Weaver and Edward, Mrs. Mary Dawson and Tommy, Mrs. Doris Kerns, Mr. Hunter Marshall, Jim Kerns, Dodie Bryston, Tim Kerns, Vickie, Melissa and Jason Early.
