At the first meeting of the
Historical Society Friday at Avon Hall, Committees were formed to get the group started. Some 171 people are charter members, who paid $3 per person to become a member.
The Rappahannock Hunt Club will open the fall season with a meeting Saturday at Stonehaven, the farm of Mr. and Mrs. George Muth, who will entertain with a hunt breakfast at 4 p.m.
The Washington Town Council has asked parents to voluntarily have their children off the streets by 9:30 p.m. on Halloween. The council asked that adults over 12 years old not wear masks.
“Meadowbrook Hall,” the distinguished, 740-acre estate near Flint Hill that has been the scene of numerous Rappahannock hunt balls, has been sold to Dr. and Mrs. Werner Krebser of McLean.
