On Thursday, March 20, shortly after midnight, our lovely, longeared Nubian goat, Lydia, was attacked by somebody’s dog. Her cries woke us, but we got there too late. The dog had already crippled her. We got a good look at the dog as it passed in front of the headlights, but we weren’t able to get off a shot. We buried Lydia on Saturday.
The dog probably belongs to someone here in the county, perhaps in the town of Washington where it seems no one ever confines his dog; or perhaps the dog belongs to one of our neighbors here in the Hollow.
