hearing April 11
An April 11 public hearing is scheduled to receive comments on highway construction projects for the Culpeper District, which includes Rappahannock County, for the upcoming fiscal year.
The hearing will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, April 11, at the Culpeper District Office on Route 15 in Culpeper.
Information gathered from the public and local officials helps the State Highway and Transportation Board to allocate funds and update its six-year highway and transit improvement program, according to Ray D. Pethtel, commissioner of the state Department of Highways and Transportation.
About $425 million in state and federal funds statewide is expected to be available for allocation to the three highway systems — interstate, primary and urban, for preliminary engineering, rights of way and construction activities.
