“We can do better; we need the dollars to do better,” School Superintendent Robert Estabrook told the Board of Supervisors at Monday’s public hearing on the 1986-87 school budget.
The $3 million in proposed expenditures, up 12 percent over the current year, calls for $1,548,689 in local hinds, an increase of 10 percent from 1985-86. The biggest chunk — $1,301,957 — would be in teachers’ salaries.
